Deegan To Start 4th in Pocono ARCA Race Running For iK9

LONG POND, PA – Hailie Deegan in the No. 55 iK9 Toyota Camry will start the General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200 from the 4th position. This comes as her lone practice session of the day set the field after overnight and early morning weather caused issues with seepage on the track at Pocono Raceway.

After Deegan’s 7:15 am drivers meeting, she was scheduled for a 7:45 am rookie ride around the track Friday morning. However, due to overnight and early morning rain, that ride was canceled as the track worked to dry the racing surface.

The weather also pushed back practice which was scheduled for a 9 am ET start. That was pushed back, with the drivers firing their engines up at 10:30 am ET.

However, once they were staged at the exit of pit road, another issue was found by the Pocono safety crews. The catalyst being water seeping through the cracks of the track on the front stretch near the exit of pit road.

Then at 10:50 am ET all of the drivers exited their vehicles as crews worked to fix the issue and dry the track.
Since the practice was pushed back, the 12 pm qualifying session was canceled. Then just shortly after 12:30 pm, the drivers turned their engines on and took to the track for their lone practice session of the day which was used to determine their starting position.

Deegan pushed the iK9 Toyota to a 53.435-second fastest lap in that practice session, which was 4th fastest overall. That mark was 1.328-seconds faster than her best time in the Wednesday open practice session at Pocono Raceway. Green flag for the General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible 200 is scheduled for 5:45 pm ET.
